So this week we received some fantastic news that our friends Josh and Katherine have accepted a job offer in EY's Geneva office. We are so excited for them, and also looking forward to having some friends living on our side of the world! We can't wait for them to get here in September!!!!Besides that, news on the home front is somewhat lacking. We went to a Cinco de Mayo party last weekend and it was nice to eat some real tasting guacamole and salsa! We miss our Mexican food so much.
Monday was an interesting day.....I like to refer to it as the worst meltdown in Chancellor history. We went to the gym, had a nice morning, then I asked him if he wanted to go play at the playground at IKEA, a super cool kids club he could stay at while I shop. Ya ya he really wanted to.....so we trekked out there, get there and he won't go in. So I tell him that he'll have to stay in the stroller the whole time if he comes shopping with me. I tell him if he goes to the kids club I'll buy him ice cream afterwards, but my bribes and threats were not working at all. He's great for the entire hour I am shopping till we get in line to pay. A REALLY long line. He then proceeds to scream, I mean screaming and kicking and grabbing what ever he can reach from the stroller, arching his body trying to get out of the straps. He was so loud and causing such a scene that I am sure half the people staring thought something was mentally wrong with my child. On our walk home (after he has calmed down), he looks back and smiles and says "Mommy, I feel better now"! So, we get home and unfortunately he got 5 stars taken off his chart and he had to eat dinner and go immediately to bed with no bath and no books. Some parts of motherhood just aren't that fun, but at least I can look back on it and laugh now. Gees.
Sunday we leave for our big Eastern European trip, can't wait. Better get to packing......
