Tis The Season

Christmas is in full bloom around the Baganz house. We officially decorated the tree today, a tradition I am really glad we've enforced. It's a fun family activity and Chance really gets in to it. I love pulling out the ornaments every year....each one has sentimental value of what we've done or where we've been.

Chance was very worried though at the size of our tree....HOW can we fit all the presents under SUCH A SMALL TREE? I assured him we'll spread them all around our measly Charlie Brown looking tree that wont stand quite straight. Next Christmas we'll have our full size tree back.

Another favorite tradition we started last year is the advent calendar box. It's a huge box with drawers that I found last year, and each night I put a little surprise in there for Chance to open the next morning. Last year I filled the entire box full of the goodies on the first day......Ive learned my lesson on that one, as Chance can't control himself not to look in the other drawers. I put pieces of paper in each drawer instead that said "No peeking".....so the first day he opens box 1 and I see him very quietly try to sneak a peek in box 2 and then his eyes got really big as if he was in big trouble! But every day I've been putting a piece of chocolate in there plus occasionally something else little. I remember as a kid the cardboard advent calendars that were filled with a piece of chocolate every day. Those were my favorite. But apparently the chocolate gene has not been passed on as I was informed yesterday on Day 5........mom, PLEASE NO MORE CHOCOLATE. What is wrong with my child? What kind of kid says no more chocolate, especially in the land of REAL swiss chocolate!?!?
