Are we sure we want to move back to Texas? This was supposidly found in a backyard in Austin....a 7 ft rattler, after having just eaten a cat. Gross.

Goodbye My Friends

Today's been a very sad afternoon. I was able to spend most of it with my friend Amy, who has lived down the street from us for the past two years. Her movers were here today to pack up their stuff for their move back to Dallas. It will be very sad for us to pass their apartment building and know they are not there. Slowly, our friends are all moving away from Zurich. I am glad to know though that Amy will be in Dallas and we'll be able to see them once we are back in Texas as well.

As soon as Amy left, I checked my email to find an update on my highschool friend Elizabeth "Murf" Murfee, who at this time last year was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. I was lucky to be able to see her when I was in Austin. The effects of cancer and the medications used for treatment are devastating to see in action. I received the news today that Murf has gone to Heaven. I am glad she will finally be out of pain and in a peaceful, better place. Memorial services will be held on Friday in Austin, it's times like these I wish we weren't so far away.

Monday at the Park

Meeting up with my friends at the park got us out of the house and moving. I'm struggling to keep my active kiddo active enough, but it was nice to get out in the sun and enjoy these fantastic Zurich summer days. It's going to be shocking to return to hot Texas summers. Chance enjoyed playing with his friends Ethan and Layton and he makes me so happy how he is very thoughtful and caring of the younger kids. I can't wait to see him with Brooks when he get here (in 43 days or less!).

Here's our friends Amy and Layton.....they are leaving to move back to Dallas on Saturday. It's our second set of friends to make their departures back the US.

Fun in the ZuriSee

Today was clear skies and gorgeous...about 80 degrees and crystal clear. We left the confines of the house and went down to the lake swim complex to let the boys partake in some swimming fun. I just balooga-ed on a beach towel in the grass and enjoyed soaking up some rays.
