July

July's been a busy month......apparently so busy that I've been a blogging slacker!

We thought that we'd celebrate the Fourth of July up right this year. We got invited to attend the American Club of Zurich's party with our friends Cory and Sherry, which had (somewhat) real American cookout-type food, and an amazing fireworks display to end the night. Chance made it up to see the fireworks once it finally got dark at 10:15 p.m. and he was thrilled. I think this was the first time he has seen, or remembered seeing fireworks. He talked about them for days! Here he is in the playground swing anxiously trying to kill time, asking me for 3 hours when the fireworks were going to start!

The next day, we continued the 4th celebration with a small party at our favorite park with the usual gang of families....all of Chance's friends were there and we all grilled out and brought typical American dessert. Chance enjoyed hanging out with his buddy Jack who he hadn't seen for a month. The bigges hit was the import Betty Crocker cake (held by Gabriella), something about the taste just makes you miss home! Here's the grilling superstar....

The 11th was the last day of school for Chance. We said goodbye with very mixed emotions as Chance is attending the Swiss International School in the fall instead. There were many many tears and goodbyes, but it was short lived as soon as Chance understood that he will still get to see his friends outside of school. Here he is with Ava, his pirate princess!

And last weekend that pirate princess had her birthday party at Chance's favorite place, Starbie, and indoor play place.....basically a 4 year olds heaven.
The funniest thing was seeing all the boys wearing the princess party hats. Daddy wasnt too excited to look over and see his boy jumping on the trampoline with his princess hat on! All the pictures of the party are posted to the left.

Tomorrow we take off for the mountains....the July adventures to be continued, and July pictures will hopefully be posted soon!
